Here’s David Johnson’s famous hymn on Herman Brokering’s wonderful text asking all of creation to “sing to the Lord a new song.” All of those mentions of trumpets, pipes, cymbals, hail, wind, and rain, loud blowing snowstorms, rustling dry leaves, engines and steel, loud pounding hammers, boiling test tubes, athletes, and yes, BAND, are finally voiced for winds and percussion.
