About GRETCHEN MICHAELS
Lyricist Gretchen Michaels has been involved in church music throughout her life, and she loves sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through music. She is married to Bob, and they have two college-age children. As a member of the music ministry at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Glen Burnie, Maryland, she has had the privilege of collaborating with Maureen Griepentrog on many songs. Feeling the Holy Spirit speak through their writing sessions and knowing that the music that results will share the Good News with others has given her much joy and strengthened her faith in the process.
Professionally, Gretchen is a physical therapist and concentrates her practice on patients with pelvic health issues. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University in Maryland and her Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree from Arcadia University.
For most of her career, Gretchen has been a member of the Board of Directors of the American Physical Therapy Association of Maryland and a member of their Continuing Education Committee. In 2014, she was awarded the American Physical Therapy Association of Maryland’s Henry O. Kendall and Florence P. Kendall Award for outstanding achievement. For many years, she has been a volunteer and delegate for the Lutheran Mission Society of Maryland. In her free time, she loves spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, hiking, and biking.
